QuJing Municpality |

Qujing Municipality is situated
in the eastern part of Yunnan Province, 102°42´
-105°5´ in ease longitude and 24°19´
-27°03´ in north latitude.It is the place where
rises the Pearl River—the longest river in South China.
Qujing municipality has seven counties, one city, one
district and the Development Zone under its jurisdiction.
It covers an area of 28,000 sq. km and has a population
of 5.750,000. Qilin District, where the municipal Party
committee and the municipal government are seated, has
a constructed area of26 sq. km with a population of350,000.Its
road length amounts to over 100 kilometers, It ranks among
the best in terms of infrastructure within the scope of
Yunnan Province.
Qujing is one of the “Top-10 Residence-friendly Cities
in China” for its nice living circumstances. It has pleasant
climate, neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.
Its annual average temperature is 14.5C with 224 frost-free
days Its rainfall per annum is 600-1818mm with sunshine
for 1917.4hours. Qujing has beautiful scenery. It has
all the six main types of tourist resources and 50 out
of the 74 basic types by the national standard, accounting
for 67%.Qujing is rich in natural resources. There are
30 kinds of mineral resources worthy of exploitation,
among which coal, lead and zinc take the lead. The proved
reserves of coal are 8.55 billion tons, and the prospective
reserves 27.1 billion tons. Qujing is complete with various
sectors of industries. It is the largest base for the
production of high-quality tobacco in Asia and functions
as an important base in Yunnan for grain, oilseed, husbandry,
silkworm cocoon, energy and chemical industry.
