Advantageous Geographical Position
QETDZ has an advantageous geographical position.One
hundred and thirty-six kilometers away from Kunming, the
capital city, it is adjacent to Guizou Province and Guangxi
Autonomous Region of the Zhuang nationality. It functions
as a hub of commu-nications from Yunnan to inland and
coastal cities,a center city connecting the middle part
of Yunnan Province with the northeastern part, a center
city connecting Yunnan with cities in the southwest of
Guizhou, the south of Sichuan and the west of Gua-nexi,a
distributing center of commerce and trade in the east
of Yunnan. Its radiation reaches to Southeast Asia and
South Asia.
Easy Transportation
The urban traffic network in QETDZ is well developed.
It is connected to all the other places in Yunnan by Kunming-Qujing,
Qujing-Luliang, Qujing-Shengjingguan expressways and Tians-hengqiao-Xuanwei
grade-one highway. It is connected with the national highway
network by national highways No.213, No.320, No.324 and
No.326. The Guiyang-Kunming, Nanning-Kunming railways
and the Kunming-Zhanyi doubletracking railway run across
the development zone.
The Guiyang-Kunming railway Qujing station is located
in the development zone. QETDZ is 136 km away from the
existing Kunming international airport, and will be 80
km from the new airport to be built soon.
Abundance of Talents
Qujing has one university, 8 secondary technical schools,
15vocational schools, and 8 institutes for scientific
research with over 80,000 professionals. In recent years,
the development zone has devoted itself to attracting
professionals of all sorts. It has perfected its policy
concerning the adoption of talents, providing tremendous
opportunities for their innovation and undertakings. The
development zone has accumulated rich resources of talents,
presenting an incomparable advantage for its own development.
Well-equipped Infrastructure
QETDZ has well-equipped infrastructure and sufficient
water and electricity resources. The work of "six
readiness and one level" has been completed. The
"six readiness" refers to the fact that roads,
water drainage, water supply, electricity, telecommunications
and cable Tv have been set up in the development zone
and are ready for use. The "one level" refers
to the fact that the land provided for companies' use
is level and smooth.
Far-reaching Post and Telecommunications
Qujing has seen a rapid progress in its post and telecommunications.
A telecommunications system connecting 40-odd countries
or regions by way of lDD has taken shape inclusive of
such transmission means as wired, wireless, carrier, microwave,
and optical cable. At present, the capacity of programmed
switchboards reaches 450,000. There are 418,600 fixed
telephones and 606,700 mobile phone users. The multi-media
network develops rapidly, providing users with high-speed
Wide Band service.
Sufficient Electricity Supply
Large-and-medium-sized hydro and thermo plants have
been set up in Qujing, like Lubuge Power Plant, Qujing
power Plant and Xuanwei Power Plant. The installed generating
capacity comes close to3 million kilowatts. A well-equipped
network has come into being for the generating and supply
of electricity. Qujing is a key base in Yunnan for the
programs known as "transmission of electricity from
the West to the East" and "transmission of electricity
from Yunnan to Gangdong" . The development zone has
two 220KV transformer substations and two 35KV ones. The
voltage is graded 110KV, 35KV, and 10KV. The East-Yunnan
Grid covers the whole of the development zone, which enables
QETDZ to meet the demand of enterprises for electricity
supply.
Advanced Financial Service
Distributed over the development zone are such financial
institutes as Industry and Commercial Bank, Agricultural
Bank, China Construction Bank, China Communications Bank
and Guangdong Devlopment Bank, and such insurance companies
as Life Insurance Company of China, Pacific Insurance,
Ping'an Insurance and so on. All these provide varied
financial service for enterprises.
Excellent Service
With regard to projects, service is offered to companies
in "one continuous line" from putting a project
on an auth-orized plan, examination and approval of a
project, environmental effect assessment, to planning
and construction. "One Stop" service is available
from preparatory work to production and operation, that
is, all the formalities concerned can be completed in
the functional departments of the administrative commission
of QETDZ. And service is also available in the whole course
of the project. An around-the-clock hotline has been opened,
which will serve companies cordially and attentively.
